Justin Sky first appeared on our radars the The cool girl on Tumblr, known for her effortless aesthetic. The Brooklyn native rose to stardom as a music star at just 17 years old, garnering millions of views on YouTube for her rendition of Drake's "Headlines." Since then, she's amassed a stellar resume: signing with Atlantic Records at 19, working with top fashion and beauty brands, collaborating with music giants... To add to the list, she now plays the very cool and stylish freshman Annika. Longstreet in Freeform's "Grown-Up."
Now, the 27-year-old's latest brand partnerships are with Marshalls and TJ Maxx, and sees her showcasing the retailer's latest holiday offerings. So I took some time to chat with him about the end of 2022 and gift giving.
"I'm ready for Thanksgiving and Christmas — I'm ready to go to the holidays," Skye tells Fashionista. "I'm also very excited to finish the year for the first time. I have no worries or regrets and I'm genuinely excited for everything to come. I've learned a lot this year and I'm ready to put that into everything that comes next."
Out of the never-ending pool of new releases, Skye revealed that she usually opts for wallet-friendly holiday buys: Easy gifts to give, she notes, are always candles and home decor, because who doesn't love warm-smelling treats? She's also a fan of winter accessories like scarves, gloves and hats - if she had $20 she'd go there.

"They are always so helpful and so lovely," she says. "I love adding something like a pair of leather gloves to your outfit, and then boom, look! It's the little things that really complete an outfit."
As for holiday wear, Skye predicts leather goods will be a favourite. "From what I hear from my friends, the biggest trend this season is, like, they can't go anywhere without rocking a leather moment," she says. "I think it elevates whatever outfit you're wearing and the accessories just elevate it."
But in the spirit of the season, the singer-slash-actor says that while she loves picking out items for her loved ones, she values quality time with them more than anything else.
"I don't want to sound cliché," he says, "but there seems to be a lot of expectation around the holidays. I just want to participate. Gifts are great too, and it's important to have an intention behind everything you give. .."
After the talk, we focus on holiday shopping, but not before Skye leaves with a shopping tip for us. "Don't be afraid," he says. "It's all about expressing your creativity through who you are and who you're getting the gift for. It's always a mix and match."
